I decided to dust off this account mostly because in this time of five million social media accounts, a lot of people seem to flock back to DeviantArt as a means to get back to a space that's only for art, and I suppose I'll join in the capacity that I'll at least keep things fairly current.
It was a little tough, though, because I have a history on this site that spans nearly 20 years and obviously I've changed a lot. When I joined in 2003, I was in 5th grade (too young to actually join DeviantArt), was neck deep in my new passion for drawing animated characters. Now it's 2022, I'm in my thirties, and I do this stuff for a living.
While I appreciate my growth as a person reflected on the site, I did purge the account of most things I did before college. Obviously since I'm a working professional now, I don't want things I've made so many years ago in the past to represent what I'm doing in the present, which I hope you all can understand. Fanart, for example, is something I don't have interest in doing anymore--not that I don't appreciate those who make fanart nor look at fanart myself. Fanart is a lot of fun! It's just not something I enjoy making myself these days. My art energy is spent in work (which is drawing and writing my webcomic Suihira), and in my free time I mostly just do landscape paintings, and that keeps me very content.
I will post new art here, and I'm looking forward to getting to know my followers again and meeting some new folks.
If anyone is into my comic Suihira, I have the first half of the story done and I'm a couple emails away from getting a book printed as a proof to eventually sell, so that's extremely exciting for me. You will most certainly know about it once it's available!
